Twisters! Nature's Fury

In 1995, the Tornado Project was approached by a distributor who wanted to put Tornado Video Classics in catalogs. The catalog version, that is. And they did. A few months later they contracted with us to make an additional video that would be different than the TVC series, with fewer tornadoes, less narration, shorter length, and no booklets. They intended to use EP slow speed duplication(which results in lower resolution), and charge a bargain price. This video was aimed at those people who are not really interested in weather(at least not enough to read Weatherwise), but interested in tornadoes, although not enough to buy the premium set of Tornado Video Classics with all the documentation. It would be an impulse-buy kind of video, sold in mall and discount stores.
So the video was made. The told us what it would be titled even before it was begun:
Twisters! Nature's Fury
Pretty Hollywood, huh?
It turned out to be a good video. And what WE found is that our previous customers were buying it too! They called us and told us their surprise to see our name at the end, but also that they thought it was a good addition to their library. No, they said, it wasn't as good as TVC, but it was well worth the low price for the additional footage that wasn't in TVC! Among other video clips, it includes personal footage by the fellow that Volvo chose to be the storm chaser in the commercial. In the ad, he chases and dodges a tornado(created by Reel EFX) That was Gene Rhoden, a well-known and respected chaser. Other people were writing us and saying that they never knew videos like this existed, that they had been interested in tornadoes their whole life, and had we made any other tornado videos? So it just goes to show, you never know what is around the corner.
So if you want a copy of Twisters! Nature's Fury, you can find it at Suncoast Video, Musicland, or Sam Goody in malls, and Blockbuster, Target and Sam's Club(not Walmart, though). If you can't find it in your area, you can get it from us. We aren't going to put it on our order form, but you can write it in and fax us, or write us, sending us $15, and we'll get it right out to you. It is a two tape set, each tape being about 45 minutes, and the price includes shipping in the US and Canada.
